Dear all,
I’m so sorry I’ve taken forever to contribute to this project! I have a love/hate relationship with my computer and the technology, and that is itself a statement about my ambivalence about the technology: blogs, e-mail, news updated by the minute, radar maps tracking impending thunderstorms to time an outing at the river. Something that we see happening with this project is how — regardless of where we live — this instant documentation and recording of experience is part of a culture we all share, and adopt as the norm. Another example of how culture changes and evolves, and a definition of culture itself: what we percieve as the norm. I’ll upload samples of the work my students completed during the Spring 2008 semester at VCU, in Richmond Virginia.

I have sent you two final shots of the mask project

At this photo session we took the group shots and also
individual shots.

You will see Joe in the middle of the group shot (without mask)
and myself with a few clustered around me. These shots will also be
used in our publicity material for promotional activities and public
relations.
