¡VIVA LA DIFERENCIA! A Project about Ourselves
Posted on September 1st, 2009 in Uncategorized |
This special international independent study is conducted in partnership with the Instituto Superior de Diseño, Havana, Cuba. The focus of the class will be on graphic design as an expression of culture. You will be creating a personal brand to express your individual experience of culture and carry it into various collateral. For more information about the curriculum (in Spanish and English) and to see former projects by other students, go to http://designingtheworld.blog.com.
Create a full color computer-generated portfolio-quality project of at least three separately designed pieces that express your individual experience of culture. This can be your personal experience of the country you live in, your family’s cultural roots derived from stories and personal history, or from any culture that you have had a substantial experience of that you identify with. You will design an identity for your cultural experience and carry it into at least three applications (these can be within the same category if you choose, for example, all print pieces) to create a “brand”.
